Services for Airmen Killed in Iraq Crash

On Tues, 3/27/18, it is expected that four Long Island airmen of the Air National Guard 106th Rescue Wing, will return home in flag-draped coffins after a horrifying accident over Iraq left seven dead.

Air Force Technical Sgt. Dashan J. Briggs of Port Jefferson Station and Air Force Master Sgt. Christopher J Raguso of Commack will be escorted to their prospective families.

Viewing and interments:

Technical Sgt. Dashan J. Briggs will be waked at the Westhampton Beach Fire Department, 92 Sunset Ave.,Westhampton Beach. Viewing will be Wednesday, March 28 from 2:00 pm- 4:30 pm, and 6:30 pm- 9:30 pm.

Services for Airman Briggs will be Thursday March 29 at 10:00 am at the West Hampton Beach Fire Department. The procession will then pass Riverhead High School, where Briggs played football, and will then proceed to Calverton National Cemetery.

Master Sgt. Christopher J. Raguso will be viewed Thursday and Friday March 29 and March 30, prospectively, at the Commack Fire Department, 6309 Jericho Tpke, Commack From 2:00 pm-4:00 pm, and 7:00 pm-9:00 pm.

Services will be at St. Joseph’s RC Church, 59 Church St., Kings Park, Saturday,

March 31 at 11:00 am. Airman Raguso was also FDNY.

Interment will be at Calverton National Cemetery.

All Legionaries are welcome to attend and American Legion Riders encouraged to participate in the procession. Please refer to Bruce Blanco before entering any procession, as the FDNY is heading off the procession, and Bruce will have the info, as to where you will fall in.
